As a Public Health Subject Matter Expert, you will review AI-generated public health responses and develop expert-level content that demonstrates rigorous analytical thinking, accurate interpretation of evidence, and effective health communication. You will evaluate the quality of public health reasoning, identify factual and methodological errors, and provide structured feedback to help improve AI-generated guidance.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated responses: Compare and rank outputs based on scientific accuracy, analytical quality, clarity, and relevance to the question.
• Assess epidemiological reasoning: Review causal claims, potential bias and confounding, risk stratification, and the interpretation of population-level health data.
• Verify public health evidence: Fact-check statistics, research findings, disease surveillance information, and claims about health interventions.
• Evaluate study interpretation: Identify errors involving denominators, rates versus risks, time horizons, uncertainty, and the interpretation of epidemiological findings.
• Review public health recommendations: Assess whether recommendations are evidence-based, contextually appropriate, and safe for the populations and settings concerned.
• Identify misleading conclusions: Flag unsupported causal claims, inaccurate statistical interpretations, inappropriate recommendations, and potential bias.
• Improve AI reliability: Provide precise written feedback to strengthen the accuracy, consistency, and scientific rigor of AI-generated public health information.
Required Qualifications
• A bachelor's degree or higher in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Policy, Global Health, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. A Master of Public Health (MPH) is preferred.
• At least five years of professional public health experience in government, the public sector, NGOs, academia, healthcare systems, global health, consulting, or a related environment.
• Strong public health analytical skills, including problem framing, causal reasoning, awareness of bias and confounding, risk stratification, and prioritization.
• Understanding of population-level disease processes, prevention strategies, screening concepts, vaccination principles, and health behavior frameworks.
• Exceptional attention to detail when checking facts, evaluating evidence, and identifying unsafe assumptions or misleading conclusions.
• English proficiency at a minimum C1 level.
• Ability to evaluate internal consistency in public health analyses, including surveillance definitions, denominators, rates, risks, time horizons, and uncertainty.
• Ability to work independently and maintain consistent quality in a remote contractor environment across time zones.
Preferred Experience
• AI data training, annotation, or AI response evaluation.
• Public health guideline development or evidence synthesis.
